Sephora has announced new beauty, skin care and more great products 😀

Betcha thought I had something so important to say from the title!

Urban Decay Naked 2!

Now there have already been several reviews about this product.  I absolutely love the names of the shadows! I’m thinking of trying bootycall, chopper and tease together 🙂  There are a dozen colors in this palette and the mixtures of rich browns,  shimmery golden-bronze and deep dark blacks will put any daytime or late night look together!  Oh, and it comes with a lip gloss-how’s that for a cherry on top. Here’s a great tutorial using Naked 2 from JulieG713 and another from AndreasChoice.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer – Radience

Now, I have to be honest I have never used a primer on my face before doing my makeup so I really don’t know if this will make my final results any better or any worse. However I am a fan of Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF-20 Oil-Free  it is my go-to during the summer months. It is perfect and light and my face feels “naked” all day which is very important when it is hot as hell outside.  You don’t want your makeup to feel like it’s melting off your face.  Oh, this is not a review for that product though…I guess I said all of that to say that I’m willing to try her primer for what it’s worth.  Here’s the description:

Foundation Primer, introduces a breakthrough radiant formula to the collection. Foundation Primer Radiance not only provides a smooth, silky surface for makeup application, but also it adds a sheer, healthy glow to the skin.

Of course there are tons of other new products from Sephora, but by the time I write about them all- they won’t be so new anymore.  So get outta her and go check ’em out yourself…but come back soon now ya hear!

Amen Sista!!! AMEN!!!

Standard

I tumbled across this amazing video yesterday and shared it on twitter and couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I decided to share it with all of you as well.  Before you watch, I just want to share with you my thoughts on why I think this video is so superb.

First of all, we as women (all women of all races) need to stop looking at one another as though the other is not good enough or in pitty just because she doesn’t have a man…really!!! We honestly need to stop letting our “relationship” status define who we are in society.  The older you get, the worse it is.  It seems that if you are not married by a certain age something must be wrong with you.

Nuh-uh…NO, NO, NO, NO, NO [yes, i’m shaking my finger and twistin my neck]

You are NOT right! First of all, just because you have a man, doesn’t mean you HAVE a man.  Look ladies, if you are getting the crooked eye from some other married woman because you are single then something might not be right in her relationship…yah know.  Most happily married women I know don’t question or judge your “status” it’s the women who are walking a tight-rope on their not so steady relationship that have the most to say about you to make them feel better about themselves and what they do (or really don’t) appear to have.

People with real, true love understand how hard it is to find and know how lucky they are to have it and understand that it takes time…the others, well they just get married because they think it make them a better person in society…then they get divorced when the children go to college and call it “irreconcilable differences” LMAO.

How about this you might not have a man because you are not gonna take whatever is thrown your way just to say you “he put a ring on it” like Kim said “the ring don’t mean a thing”  and honey-baby-chile I’d rather wait for that person to come who is going to be strong when I’m weak, shedding the light when I’m in the dark, thinking outside the box when I’m stuck inside….my best friend, my supporter and I want to be him all of thee above to him as well.

So, I don’t know about you but I’m not single because something’s wrong with me. I’m single cause I wanna be.  And instead of crying over why I don’t have a man, Imma do me!  Believe me, I have kissed enough toads and recently learned that I WILL NOT settle for less just to say I gotta man! So death to the Tragic, Scientifically Less Attractive, Unmarried Single Black Woman!!

And with that being said…. you may press play now 🙂

It’s a New Year! Change is Here!!!!

Standard

It’s a new year and I am exited about what is to come. Although I really don’t know what is ahead, I do know that I am making some new commitments and I am really exited to see them play out.

One thing I want to do new this year is projects.  I have found myself surfing the web a lot lately and reading a lot of magazines with creative ideas that I want to try.  I consider myself someone who is crafty, but not because I come up with ideas myself, but because I am inspired by others to create things.  So, this year I’m going to take the ideas that I have been saving on bookmarks and pintrest and bring them to life.  Living it up in the real world. Books on my “read list” will be cracked open.  I just want to do a little more.

As far as my natural hair adventure, I am rolling strong.  I have found what works for me and I continue to see so much progress.  I absolutely love my hair.  I can remember being a teenager wanting my hair to be as healthy as it was when I was younger, but no matter what I did I could not obtain  the health or the length that I wanted.  I will continue to grow in this area as well and record my progress and share what I stumble upon with all who may be interested.

Basically what I am getting at is this:

I am evolving and as a result the purpose of this blog is going to evolve as well.  I love to write, but I want to make sure its fun, interesting and relevant to those that stop by.  I want you to have as much fun looking through my site as I do writing,  As I discover and try new things that I find, I will share with all of you and hopefully you will NJoy as much as I do.

What you will find here are lots of fun crafts, inspiration and ideas on everything from hair, fashion, beauty and style.

Welcome to Naturally NJoyable

Year in Comparison

Standard

So, just a brief overview of my “hair story”:

  • In July of 2010 I decided I would stop perming my hair
  • In February of 2011 I decided to BC
  • I have been fully natural for 10 months now

I don’t have a regimene… really I have learned to just connect with the needs of my hair at the time.  I shampoo whenever I feel it necessary; sometimes 2 times a month sometimes once a month.  I deep condition and pre-poo only when I shampoo.  I co-wash every week and seal with coconut oil (I love coconut oil).

I love eco-styler gel, hello hydration conditioner, Carol’s Daughter shampoo, coconut oil, olive oil (pre-poo), cream of nature leave-in conditioner.

That’s pretty much it!  I know I probably owe a lot of how-to post (that I need to stop promising) but I just don’t even have the time.  I do good putting post up when I do.  I am really glad that I have kept track of this adventure it’s really cool to see comparison pics.

Check them out!

This is from my BC to Nov. 2011

It is crazy to me that my hair is where it was this time last year when I was transitioning. My hair was shorter than this when I started transitioning and it had been at that length for about a year and a half!!!

My Puff is big. It was my go-to style for a while!

My last post was in July and here we are…almost through October. In July, my hair was cut about 2-3 inches and I was so upset. Well I’m pleased that my hair is back to the length it was before the unexpected trim/chop. And I’m happy because it has a cute shape because of the chop. My hair routine its so simple and my products are so inexpensive.
With natural hair becoming more of a trend it is hard to determine at times what is right for YOU and I’ve found it and I’m so excited about that! I will share details in an upcoming post (I plan to write more frequently :/)

Til them njoy these pics  ❤
