Marble Nails

Standard

Today I decided to do my nails. I have been wanting to try out this marble design for some time now, and I finally got around to doing it today 🙂

The tutorial is in the video below. Very easy to do, but I must warn you it is rather time consuming because you have to make a different “marble water” for each nail (and each nail comes out differently of course) so it takes patience, however the dry time for the nail is less than 2 minutes so I guess it all evens out. Her’s is much better, I’m sure after a few more practices mine will look as good as hers but I don’t think it turned out too bad for my first try 🙂 Imma wear my nails in public proud! LOL

Hope you like 🙂

THOUGHT I’D SHARE
Oh, and after you watch, be sure to educate yourself too. Who knows, you may agree with the SOPA’s and the PIP’s (I know it’s PIPA PIP’s just seemed right for the time being :D) or agree to disagree…whateva the case maybe you should understand what is going on behind closed doors, especially now that the walls are thin enough for us to listen in 🙂

Wishlist Wednesdays

Standard

First, I just want to first give mad props to all those bloggers who blog everyday.  I was on a real bloggin roll and one day I said I would take a break…that day turned into 2…now a week and a half later I am back.  For non other than Wishlist Wednesday’s.  I’m tempted to double it up (the wishlist) because I missed last week! 😦

WTH it’s my blog.  I think I will do just that 🙂

HAIR

I Naturally N.Joy my hair…. first before I tell you what I wish for, just look at these curls!! I did a twist-out and put my hair in a pony/puff and it came out soooo pretty 🙂

OK, yeah I know it’s hot! LOL! No, but for real…so here are the two hair items on my wishlist:

First is terressentials organic hair wash it’s a pure hair wash.  There have been some really good reviews on this product and it is supposed to get your hair the cleanest that it can possibly be.  I really do want to try this soon.

I would also like to have the hair therapy wrap.  It would be great for deep conditioning or hot oil treatments. I hate sitting under dryers.

Beauty

Nails nails nails!!! So, I saw a girl with this nail polish on and I absolutely loved it. I have been looking for it in stores everywhere, but it looks like I’m gonna have to go ahead and order it before spring! It’s from the OPI Muppet line and it’s called  Rainbow Connection.  ❤

oooh and purple lip glass

 Fashion

Now this is a jumpsuit.  I love the polka dots.

The glitter on this dress is amazing

Home

This is something I will probably never get, but I love the idea of having one of these, especially for my son’s room.  A display-it storage from Pottery Barn.  It just seems so practical.

I really need a sitting area to do my hair and makeup so everyday when I wake up to get ready,  I start off like a princess (with the exception of my styling squad) and will hopefully walk out the door looking like one too 🙂 ahhh…

Other

I saw these watches and I fell hard; my heart skipped a beat.   The La Mer Collections, all of them, are incredible. Aren’t they?!?!! The leather bands and the bracelet look is just wonderful!

Hope you  🙂 N.Joy

Busted Move

Standard

http://theskinnyblackgirl.com/2012/01/bust-a-move/

Is this a sign or what!?!  I just read the post above as I was thinking (at 4:30am trying to drown out these exact thoughts) that I, myself am going through this same battle with my mind…

I get all of these wonderful ideas and aspirations and sometimes I start them and then don’t finish and other times I just think them and don’t follow through. Either way….not following through is key here. It’s so disappointing.

When you don’t follow through with your initial plan, then there is this feeling of ultimate regret. And the all to familiar song of Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda starts to play in your head over and over again.

I want to say it’s my turn to start tricking my mind and winning, but it is literally an on going battle.

“Just continue the songs of affirmations,” I say to myself.

“I think I can. I know I can. I  know I will.”

[Sigh]
It will happen….it will happen.

I just need to stop thinking about it and go a head and “Bust a Move”

Are you battling with your mind this new year? What are you doing to make sure you BUST A MOVE?

SUGGESTIONS WELCOME HERE!

uh hum May I Have Your Attention Please

Standard

Sephora has announced new beauty, skin care and more great products 😀

Betcha thought I had something so important to say from the title!

Urban Decay Naked 2!

Now there have already been several reviews about this product.  I absolutely love the names of the shadows! I’m thinking of trying bootycall, chopper and tease together 🙂  There are a dozen colors in this palette and the mixtures of rich browns,  shimmery golden-bronze and deep dark blacks will put any daytime or late night look together!  Oh, and it comes with a lip gloss-how’s that for a cherry on top. Here’s a great tutorial using Naked 2 from JulieG713 and another from AndreasChoice.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer – Radience

Now, I have to be honest I have never used a primer on my face before doing my makeup so I really don’t know if this will make my final results any better or any worse. However I am a fan of Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF-20 Oil-Free  it is my go-to during the summer months. It is perfect and light and my face feels “naked” all day which is very important when it is hot as hell outside.  You don’t want your makeup to feel like it’s melting off your face.  Oh, this is not a review for that product though…I guess I said all of that to say that I’m willing to try her primer for what it’s worth.  Here’s the description:

Foundation Primer, introduces a breakthrough radiant formula to the collection. Foundation Primer Radiance not only provides a smooth, silky surface for makeup application, but also it adds a sheer, healthy glow to the skin.

Carol’s Daughter Macadamia Styling Collection Set

– 2 oz Heat Protection Serum
– 4 oz Heat Styling HairsprayWhat it is formulated WITHOUT:

Of course there are tons of other new products from Sephora, but by the time I write about them all- they won’t be so new anymore.  So get outta her and go check ’em out yourself…but come back soon now ya hear!

Wishlist Wednesdays

Standard

Today is Wishlist Wednesday!!! There are so many things that I want and so many other things that I think I need!  So many, in fact, I know my blog will continue to have content based on this fact alone!  LOL.

Hair

The Huetiful Hair Steamer.  I hear such good things about steaming not only your face, but your hair and this great item does both.  Steaming your hair helps with breakage and split ends and honestly it just seams like it’s very relaxing.

Beauty

Sigma Makeup brushes.  I have been longing for these for a while.  I really need new makeup brushes and the Essential Kit is perfect for me.  I like to wear makeup, but I’m no professional but quality goes a long way.  For those of you who are professionals of the like…the cool thing about the Sigma is you can also build your own kit

Fashion

I love these Toms!  The great thing about Toms is that if you buy a pair of shoes, they give a new pair of shoes to a child in need.  Walk in comfort knowing that you have given back! What a way to strut your stuff! HA!

Home

First off…this picture, to me, is every bit of awesome.  I love the color and the simplicity.  You can purchase this lovely work of art from Susie Harris she has great ideas and I just love her work.  One day, one day I will be able to create things half as lovely.  In the meantime…I will purchase this for my house one day soon (my wish).

Other

Ladies this purse is fabulous. The BCBG Sophia Leopard clutch complete with leather trim and a detachable metal shoulder strap.  It even has a smart phone pocket.  <sigh> I love it.  It compliments any going out look.

Amen Sista!!! AMEN!!!

Standard

I tumbled across this amazing video yesterday and shared it on twitter and couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I decided to share it with all of you as well.  Before you watch, I just want to share with you my thoughts on why I think this video is so superb.

First of all, we as women (all women of all races) need to stop looking at one another as though the other is not good enough or in pitty just because she doesn’t have a man…really!!! We honestly need to stop letting our “relationship” status define who we are in society.  The older you get, the worse it is.  It seems that if you are not married by a certain age something must be wrong with you.

Nuh-uh…NO, NO, NO, NO, NO [yes, i’m shaking my finger and twistin my neck]

You are NOT right! First of all, just because you have a man, doesn’t mean you HAVE a man.  Look ladies, if you are getting the crooked eye from some other married woman because you are single then something might not be right in her relationship…yah know.  Most happily married women I know don’t question or judge your “status” it’s the women who are walking a tight-rope on their not so steady relationship that have the most to say about you to make them feel better about themselves and what they do (or really don’t) appear to have.

People with real, true love understand how hard it is to find and know how lucky they are to have it and understand that it takes time…the others, well they just get married because they think it make them a better person in society…then they get divorced when the children go to college and call it “irreconcilable differences” LMAO.

How about this you might not have a man because you are not gonna take whatever is thrown your way just to say you “he put a ring on it” like Kim said “the ring don’t mean a thing”  and honey-baby-chile I’d rather wait for that person to come who is going to be strong when I’m weak, shedding the light when I’m in the dark, thinking outside the box when I’m stuck inside….my best friend, my supporter and I want to be him all of thee above to him as well.

So, I don’t know about you but I’m not single because something’s wrong with me. I’m single cause I wanna be.  And instead of crying over why I don’t have a man, Imma do me!  Believe me, I have kissed enough toads and recently learned that I WILL NOT settle for less just to say I gotta man! So death to the Tragic, Scientifically Less Attractive, Unmarried Single Black Woman!!

And with that being said…. you may press play now 🙂
